for someone attempting an installation. Perhaps the information provided here helps you
decide you do not want to try to install or replace something yourself, thereby keeping
you from making a mess of things. There is nothing that will bug you more than looking at
and dealing with the front door of your home or apartment that you screwed up. Picture
it; Every time you and the wife go thru the front door she will shake her head a little
while she wrestles with the lock, glancing at you then the lock, shaking her head a bit
more. After a while this will start to gnaw away at you like some jungle rat, driving you
eventually to the point of distraction, ruining your self esteem, then your marriage.
Then comes the alchoholism and subsequent crack abuse. Having had enough of you and the
door lock, your wife will take you to the cleaners in divorce court, siting your many
shortcomings, including your inability to properly install a lock, or call a locksmith.
She will get the kids, the car, the house, the bank account, everything but the front
door you screwed up. The judge will give you that, and the bill for a new door.
Eventually you will wind up homeless, just another mentally disturbed guy wandering the
streets dragging a front door behind you, which you will try to prop up in front of
whatever cardboard box you are spending the night in. I've seen it happen a million
